Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Chester – The Big Orange Love Bug
Chester is a big, handsome orange boy who is 6 years old and full of sweetness. This laid-back guy is the definition of sweet and chill — the kind of cat who makes a house feel like home.
Chester loves to snuggle, stretch out in a warm sunny spot, and soak up all the affection he can get. He has a calm, gentle personality and truly enjoys being around his people.
He does great with other cats and would absolutely love to be adopted with his best buddy, Chandler, who is around 10 years old. The two of them are an amazing duo — devoted companions and expert nap partners who bring comfort and companionship to each other. Keeping them together would be a dream come true.
Chester is looking for an indoor-only home where he will be pampered, spoiled, and cherished as a beloved family member. A cozy couch, sunny windows, and lots of love are at the top of his wish list.
He is currently in a foster home, where his sweet personality continues to shine.
If you’re ready to open your heart (and your sunny windowsills),

More about this shelter
Friends of DeKalb County-AL Animal Adoption Center is a 501c3, non profit, all volunteer, foster based rescue and not the shelter staff.
Our mission is to improve visibility and increase awareness of the countless number of abandoned, homeless animals located in the DeKalb County-AL Animal Shelter, with the ultimate goal being to unite these deserving animals with the perfect family to call their own.
Whether it be by finding adopters for homeless animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners or increasing community awareness about important issues, our volunteers are dedicated to being a voice for the animals in our area that are in need.
However, we can not do this alone. There are numerous ways that you can help in this effort, including volunteering, educating, donating, fostering a pet until it is adopted and sharing pictures of animals that are posted on our page.
The list of ways to help is endless and can be tailored to meet whatever your needs may be.
