My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet CHANCE! He is the sweetest kitty you'll ever meet. All he wants is to climb onto your lap and purr. He loves to jump into your arms and give you hugs and kisses. Chance is an easy going, chilled cat. He doesn't mind cosplay and walking on a leash. He will follow you like a puppy. (He may be more of a dog than a cat). He has bursts of energy at times chasing toys. This handsome boy has a very cute meow and would love to tell you about his day when you come home. He is extremely food motivated and can be trained to do tricks. He is currently training to be a shoulder cat.

This poor boy had a rough life outdoors prior to his rescue. He was likely picked on by other cats. He is FIV+ but he has no teeth so it is unlikely for him to pass FIV to another cat. Also he will never need dental cleanings in the future. He does not seem to mind calm cats but does not like dogs. He prefers to be your one and only. Chance is ready for his forever home and ready to shower his forever family with affection.

Additional adoption info

Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.

All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.

More about this rescue

Anjellicle Cats Rescue is an all-volunteer registered 501c3 cat rescue committed to helping make New York a no-kill city. As one of the most active cat rescues in the 5 boroughs, ACR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out homeless cats and kittens, many of which are sick, injured or dismissed as unadoptable. Through a coalition of volunteer advocates and caregivers, each rescued cat is welcomed with kindness and medical care into a foster home with the goal of adoption into a permanent, loving home.
