My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sophie — Beauty, Strength, and Endless Love

Age: 3.5 years
Weight: 35 lbs

Sophie is one of those dogs who instantly steals hearts. Sweet, affectionate, and incredibly resilient, she is living proof that love can overcome even the hardest beginnings.

As a young dog, Sophie was tragically hit by a car and left on the side of the road. Thanks to the compassionate team at SOS El Arca Animal Rescue, she received the urgent medical care, safety, and love she needed. Despite multiple surgeries to try to save her back leg, amputation was the only option.

Sophie never let that stop her.

Today, Sophie is a happy, energetic, and joyful girl who runs, plays, and spreads love wherever she goes. She is smart, loyal, and eager to learn, and she truly thrives when she has a person to bond with and call her own.

Because Sophie has three legs, she has been overlooked time and time again. But we know her perfect match is out there — someone who will see her not for what she lost, but for the incredible heart and light she brings.

Sophie gets along great with other dogs, is neutral with cats, and is very friendly and social overall. She is crate trained, comfortable being alone, and does well with routine and structure.

Sophie is ready to give her whole heart to a forever home. All she needs is someone willing to open theirs in return.

She has a chance to travel to New York on January 24 if we find an adopter or a foster-to-adopt home.
