If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I adopted Whiskey in Atlanta, GA in October 2023. I lived there with him until June 2025. Whiskey is a very loyal and cuddly dog. He does well with people he knows, in a calm environment. He requires slow and calm introductions to new people and animals. He did not interact well with my parents' dog at first, but now they run and play together! Whiskey loves to be with his person and to play tug.
I am looking to rehome Whiskey because I am currently in Law School and have small nieces that I am around all the time. I do not have the time, capacity, or environment that Whiskey needs to be properly trained. While Whiskey is a genuinely good dog, he can be unpredictable when it comes to what might trigger his anxiety/reactivity. For this reason, he is too much to have around my young nieces.
Whiskey would do best in in a home without children because he can be sensitive to grabbing/handling. He requires an owner that is experienced with dogs, specifically in recognizing cues.
