This helps Operation Pets Alive! with pet care costs.
Joy was found dumped with her bowls on the side of the street. She was severely matted, covered in wound and rashes. Her skin was red from allergies and she had a herni on her belly. She used to walk in a hunched position, had no muscles on her back legs, and had two huge hygromas on her buttocks (all of these probably consequences of being kept in a crate all day long.)
Joy has come a long way: she walks straight now, her hernia was repaired, and her skin is in much better shape. Her hygromas have reduced in size but will probably never go completely away (once her hair grows back they won’t be too noticeable and they don’t bother her)
Even after all she had to go through, she is a very sweet girl who is learning how to be a proper dog. She is house trained and very obedient (a little scared of the word NO, maybe from previous abuse)
Joy is still a puppy at heart (a 60lb puppy!) she is very high energy and needs a family who is active and willing to play with her a lot. She does not get along with female dogs but has no problems with male dogs.
As all doodles she does not shed a lot, but she will need monthly hair cuts and probably daily/weekly brushing.
