We rescued 1 year old Jenny and her four tiny babies from a homeless encampment on skid row. Unfortunately all of her babies contracted parvo and only one survived. Despite everything she’s been through, Jenny remains the sweetest and most gentle girl with dogs as small as 3 pounds and dogs as large as 120 pounds! She herself is just 55 pounds. She’s so happy to have a warm place to rest her head at night and loves to cuddle and be affectionate with her caretakers. Jenny is fantastic with cats and is non reactive to all of the other animals she sees on her walks. Because Jenny was brought up in such a chaotic environment, nothing in the normal world phases her. She’s the silliest girl who loves to roll around in the grass while making silly faces, chew on her toys, and especially play with her doggy friends. Jenny’s home is required to have other playful dogs because she thrives with friends. Jenny bonds very hard with her people and because she’s so happy to finally have a home of her own- she’s afraid she’s going to lose that family. This creates a lot of separation anxiety and stress when her family is gone from her. Jenny is looking for a family that understands separation anxiety and will not leave her alone for the first few weeks or even months of her adoption. She needs to feel completely safe and comfortable knowing that you will always come back. It will take time for her to understand that and the amount of time varies from dog to dog. If you give her a chance you will absolutely be so glad you did. She’s a one of a kind dog with a heart of gold!
