Leather is a previous shelter dog that needs an immediate new home.
Leather is a 2 year old wiggle worm who lives with a 1-yr-old toddler, and a 7-yr-old who he is very playful with. He is gentle with the 7-year-old child, but he does tend to get underfoot because he wants attention. He does jump but listens to “no” command & will get down. Leather also lives with an 18 & 21 yr old, as well as the 4 children’s parents. He is a very sweet boy, loves toys, sits & shakes on command.
Leather needs help. His family only has good things to say about him, but their other male dog is aggressive towards Leather. Leather is kennel trained, he sleeps in there at night, has done great with their young children & enjoys sunbathing. He roams the garage & back yard unless their bulldog is outside, in which he is kept in the garage.
Leather lives with 2 dogs, a male English Bulldog & a female St Bernard. With the male dog, toys cannot be on the ground in a shared space or a fight breaks out. Per the adopter, they think their male bulldog is starting the fight because Leather can have toys around their female dog without issue. Fights are getting worse & a new home IMMEDIATELY is needed.
This past week of the family’s children accidently left the door open & Leather walked outside. The adopter turned around & watched him stretch in the sunlight, while her bulldog started growling, and Leather walked away. There have been no further intendents because the family is keeping the 2 male dogs separated, but it appears that Leather is not the one starting the fights.
Leather is a very good boy who is not getting the most out of life, keeping the boys separate is also causing a toll on the family. Help is needed now! The situation is URGENT for Leather.
Please contact us IMMEDIATELY if you can help Leather. He may do best as an only dog or with a female dog. Time is of the essence!
A special courtesy plea for Leather…
