Hi, my name is Ace, and I am a sweet and playful puppy looking for my forever home! Life has been a little bit of a challenge for me so far. I was bitten by another dog through the side of my kennel before I arrived at Angels of Assisi, which left me with a large wound in my side. I then made the long trip from a rescue in Texas all the way to Roanoke so I could find a loving home here. I also have tremors which impact my mobility (I can walk just fine, but I go a little slower than most pups my age). But I am a true fighter, and none of that has dampened my spirits. I love other dogs and get excited whenever I see a potential new friend. I like nothing better than hanging out with my favorite humans. I can be a little shy at first, but I know if you spend some time with me, you will quickly fall in love with me.
If you'd like to meet me, stop by the shelter today!

Find the pet for you at the Adoption Center:
Angels of Assisi’s adoption center is open from 12-6pm, 7 days a week. Adoption Specialists and Volunteer Ambassadors are eager to help you find the pet that would fit best in your family.
Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. To meet a pet in foster care, please fill out a non-binding adoption application, and the foster parent will contact you to schedule a meet and greet once the application has been approved (generally within 24 hours).
Found the perfect addition to your family? Now what?
The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.
Taking Your New Pet Home
After paying the adoption fee and pending the approval of your application, you may take your new pet home immediately. Adoption fees may vary and can be found on our website at:
