Monty is a gentle giant with a huge heart. He’s incredibly loyal and affectionate, loves cuddles and daily walks, and thrives on being close to his people. He’s fully potty trained, well-mannered, and responds reliably to all major commands — a truly trained dog who wants to do the right thing.
Monty has been around people of all ages and has even lived successfully with two other dogs (a Weimaraner and a Whippet). While he can be selective with other dogs and we’ve noticed the most tension with Golden Retrievers, he has done well when introductions are handled properly and thoughtfully.
His biggest challenge is leash reactivity. He can be anxious and protective when on leash, but he responds very well to firm, confident handling and the use of an e-collar. Because of this, we avoid overly populated areas and dog parks, and he does best in calmer environments with structured walks.
At home and with people he knows, Monty is a big goof — sweet, loving, and endlessly loyal.
