Dog Name: Laci Noel
Breed: Terrier Mix
Sex: Female
Age: 2 year
Weight: 20
Medical Needs : Laci still needs to be spayed, and is heartworm positive. Laci’s spay is scheduled for January 21 at Avenue Vet in Milford. Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption. Her heartworm treatment will also be at Avenue and will likely be in February. It will consist of two back to back appointments, likely on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Keeping these appointments will also be a condition of adoption and moving them will NOT be an option because she will be paired with another dog for treatment. Due to her upcoming appointments. Her foster to adopt family must live within one hour of Milford and be willing to travel there for all of her medical appointments.
Housebroken: yes
Crate trained: yes
Good in the car: yes
Good on a leash: YES - she loves walks.
Energy level: Middle - happy to snuggle up on a comfy chair, and happy to take a good walk outside.
Need a fenced in yard: would definitely help with the mild herding instincts, however, she is also a digger so she does try to dig out from under the fence, and has been successful.
Dog Friendly: YES - Shitzu , pit mix , and 75# pitbull in the foster home .
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Not necessarily/ but she does like our dogs
Cat Friendly: Yes, no interest
Kid Friendly: Yes, older children.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 12+. Old enough to respect, show kindness and be aware of their surroundings when opening exterior doors.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know : Laci is a sweet, timid, little girl, who is still learning how to be a dog. Her life did not start out being around people that showed her kindness and she is still learning that people are good for more than just providing her with her dinner. She is definitely making progress every single day and is turning into a happy little dog. Her ideal family will have to be someone that is very patient and understands that it’s going to take her a little bit of time to be the great companion, I know she can be. Laci definitely prefers ladies, and is very fearful of men at this time. It’s getting better but it’s still significant. In addition, the flight instinct in Laci is still very strong and she is definitely a door dart risk. It’s important that she remain leashed during the transition period, and that everyone in the household is vigilant with their comings and goings. This little girl is FAST. If she gets loose, you aren’t going to catch her unless she wants you to, so it’s best to just take every precaution from the jump to ensure her safety!! Otherwise, she is a super cute , sweet little girl
