Meet Mahogany aka Maggie, a sweet and shy ~2 -3 year old spayed female small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Maggie was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). She is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find her furever home!
Maggie is a shy/nevous girl who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. She wants so badly to connect with people, but she is scared and unsure. Once she knows you are safe, she is a sweet girl. She is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her a little time and space to come to them on her own terms. She is worth the wait!
Maggie is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to her nervous/timid nature). She has not been cat tested, but we feel she would likely be fine with cats.
She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!

After processing you application, you will be contacted to schedule a virtual home visit.
Approve Application
After your application is processed and your home visit is done, we will let you know if you are approved to adopt!
Meet the Pet
Once you are approved a meeting will be set up for you to meet with the dog you are interested in.
Sign Adoption Contract
The last step is finalizing the adoption! Sign their contract, pay the adoption fee, and take your furry friend home!
