✨ Meet StarLight — A Tiny Survivor with a Big Spark ✨
StarLight’s story began with heartbreak. She was found with twine and insulation wrapped tightly around her rear leg—so tight it cut off circulation and ultimately required amputation. But here’s the thing… StarLight doesn’t want your pity. What she wants is a chance.
Her adorable little stump is part of her charm, and she uses it in the sweetest, most endearing ways—you’ll catch yourself smiling without even realizing it. StarLight gets around just fine and has zero interest in slowing down.
This petite girl LIVES for toys, especially anything that rattles. Her absolute favorite is her rattle caterpillar, and when you bring it out, her eyes light up with pure joy. She’s a bit picky about food (hence her tiny size), but offer her a Churu and suddenly she’s very motivated to cooperate.
My husband once said StarLight is the embodiment of those waving-arm fortune cats—and he nailed it. 🐱✨ She has been through more than any kitten should, and because her earliest experiences with humans involved pain and recovery, she’s understandably timid. She enjoys affection on her own terms and will even roll over for belly rubs once trust is established. StarLight is the kind of cat who will choose her person and bond deeply—quietly, loyally, and forever.
She’s not one to steal the spotlight or host the party. In new situations, she will likely hide. But for the right human—someone patient, gentle, and committed—she will slowly blossom into a devoted companion.
🌙 Ideal Home:
• Quiet and calm
• No young children
• No rambunctious dogs
• A patient adopter willing to start her in a small space and build trust gradually
StarLight is a little bossy with her kitty friends at first (she likes to establish her authority), but once boundaries are set, she enjoys their company.
🩺 Medical & Care Info:
• Age: approx. 3.5–4 months
• Weight: just under 3 lbs (petite!)
• Rear leg amputee
• Vaccinated
• Combo tested negative
• Microchipped
• Will need to be spayed
✨ StarLight isn’t broken—she’s brave.
She’s a quiet soul looking for someone who understands that love doesn’t always arrive loudly. If you’re the kind of person who believes the deepest bonds are built slowly, gently, and with trust… StarLight may be waiting just for you. 💫🐾

More about this rescue
🐾 Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue 🐾
Billy the Kidden Rescue is a VDACS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 and supported by a network of over 60 active foster homes across Hampton Roads.
Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce the feral cat population in our community by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens—transforming them into loving, adoptable pets and placing them in safe, forever homes.
💙 Our Heart is in TNR
We are proud advocates of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)—the humane, effective method of managing community cats. Through this program, feral cats are:
✔️ Trapped
✔️ Neutered or Spayed
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Ear-Tipped (as a universal sign they've been fixed)
✔️ Returned to live safely in their outdoor colonies without contributing to overpopulation.
We are actively working to promote legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads.
🐱 Feral Kitten Socialization
Our feral kitten socialization program is one of a kind—with a 90% success rate in helping feral-born kittens become affectionate, in-home pets. Through experienced fostering, patience, and love, these kittens learn to trust, play, and thrive indoors.
💪 Get Involved!
We’re always looking for passionate animal lovers to join our team. Help us make a difference by becoming a:
Foster
Volunteer
Transporter
TNR Trapper
🎁 Support Our Work
Donations keep our rescue running, and we’re always in need of supplies! Check out our wish lists to see what’s needed most:
