My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ernie is a 12-year old Chihuahua with a heart full of charm and a spirit that will make you smile. Hard of seeing but full of confidence, Ernie was found wandering the streets as a stray by some of our beloved former adopters and fosters who did not hesitate to step in and help. They lovingly took him in and began fostering him, and we are so grateful they did.

This little gentleman is an absolute delight. Ernie is spunky, social, and gets along beautifully with the other dogs in his foster home, big and small alike. He carries himself with confidence, and his bark is truly unforgettable. It sounds just like a seal and is guaranteed to make you giggle. Ernie is a sweet, gentle older man who is simply looking for a soft place to land, a calm and loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by comfort and kindness.

If you think Ernie might be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application at
skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once your application is received, we will be happy to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet with Ernie. This special little soul is ready to find his forever home.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees vary between $165-$350. That includes all medical vetting, UTD vaccines, spay/neuter, lifetime microchip, an escape proof harness lead and collar & tag. Also, since some our dogs are such a huge flight risk, there may be additional steps needing to happen before the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
