My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baxter 🩵 | 7 Years Old | 90 lbs

Baxter spent his entire life in a home. Then, through no fault of his own, everything changed. When his owner had to relocate, Baxter and his sister were surrendered—and overnight, he lost his people, his routine, and the sense of safety he’d always known.

Despite the heartbreak, Baxter is nothing but gentle, loving, and kind. He’s the type of dog who leans into affection, melts into pets, and reminds you just how special senior dogs truly are.

What Baxter is like:
🤍 Perfect car rider — calm and relaxed
🤍 Sweet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate
🤍 Lives for pets, cuddles, and being close to his people
🤍 Enjoys walks and jogs — he likes to move at a faster pace and may pull a bit, but it’s manageable
🤍 Passed people and dogs calmly on outings
🤍 Didn’t react when another dog barked at him through a fence

Baxter’s impeccable manners:
✔️ Fully potty trained
✔️ Excellent house manners
✔️ No jumping
✔️ Great with people of all ages, including kids
✔️ Does well with calm, relaxed dogs
✔️ Ultimate couch potato once his walk is done
🐱 Baxter lived peacefully in a home without cats for many years. Once his sister came along, his sister would partake in chasing the kitties in the home. Baxter would sometimes copy her. However given he previously lived peacefully with them, there is potential with patient introduction that he could again coexist.

Baxter is a big, chunky love bug who just needs a soft place to land—a home where he can finally exhale. He’ll happily curl up beside you, follow you with his soulful eyes, and trot along with the cutest little floppy ears bouncing with every step.

If you have room in your heart and home for a dog who has already proven he knows how to be the best companion, Baxter is ready to be yours. 💙
