My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Thanks to a generous donation from Tika’s owners, all senior cat adoption fees are being sponsored through our Tika Senior Cat Adoption Promotion – including Ponterita’s!***

Ponterita is an 8 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative!

Ponterita, lovingly known as Rita, is a gentle, affectionate soul who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. She’s does startle with loud noises or sudden movements, so she’s looking for a quiet home where she can feel safe and settle at her own pace.

Ponterita is a world-class cuddler. At bedtime or during naps, she loves curling up close — by your head, on your stomach, or at your feet. If she drifts off on your stomach and rests a paw on your neck, don’t worry — that just means she’s perfectly comfortable and content. She adores head kisses and belly rubs, and while she may occasionally paw or give a gentle nip, it’s simply her way of trying to play.

She’s a curious but cautious girl who can become overwhelmed if too much is happening at once. Having a designated “safe space,” like a quiet bedroom, helps her feel secure and gives her a place to retreat when she needs downtime. Ponterita does well with other people as long as they’re gentle, patient, and respectful of her boundaries.

Rita isn’t much of a toy chaser — except when it comes to her beloved catnip banana! She’d much rather explore her surroundings or snooze on something soft and cozy (fuzzy blankets are a must). As an older cat, she doesn’t jump much, preferring to carefully climb, though with encouragement she’s shown she can still surprise you.

Above all, Rita is a loving, steady companion who will be there whenever you need her. Anyone lucky enough to welcome her into their home will gain a devoted friend with a heart full of love.
