Meet Luffy – Your Gentle Guardian with a Heart of Gold
Luffy’s story started with heartbreak, but it’s quickly turning into one filled with love and second chances. This handsome boy was found abandoned in a field in Lufkin, TX, where he had been lying for days without food or water. Thankfully, kindhearted neighbors stepped in to care for him and made sure he got the help he so desperately needed.
Because their own dogs weren’t welcoming to a newcomer, they reached out to TGPR — and we’re so grateful they did. Since coming into rescue, Luffy has been doing amazing.
Luffy is everything people adore about Great Pyrenees. He’s sweet, calm, gentle, and incredibly loving. He has a soft, soulful presence and just wants to be near his people. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, is wonderful with people, and even does great with cats — a rare and special trait!
Luffy would make a loyal, easygoing companion for a very lucky family. After everything he’s been through, he’s more than ready for a forever home where he’ll be safe, cherished, and never have to wonder where his next meal or kind touch is coming from.

TGPR is a 501.c.3 organization dedicated to the protection and rescue of Great Pyrenees in Texas and surrounding areas.
TGPR helps Great Pyrenees that are considered at-risk for physical/mental injury, cruelty and abandonment and that may be subject to euthanasia and inhumane treatment.
We have Great Pyrenees of all different ages. We want to find just the right Pyr for you. We also adopt out of state, so don't hesitate if you aren't in Texas!
