*** Sophie is in our PetSmart Encinitas adoption center. ***
Sophie #19924: gray/black & white tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/1/25
Cats: good solo, ok with intro Dogs: unknown Children: no, adult home
BACKGROUND: Sophie was found as a kitten by a member of the Coast Guard and brought to a shelter. The Rescue House was asked if we could transfer her to our care.
PERSONALITY: Sophie is a lovely little lady who saves her purrs for her special people. She likes to get to know her humans first, and then will open up and blossom in your company and attention. Sophie needs some time to get comfortable in new places, but once she settles in and decides the time is right she’ll move into the mix of the household flow. She didn’t know how to play with toys at first, though has figured it out now and enjoys playful pursuits. Sophie is a very kind-hearted kitty who will make a wonderful companion.
COMPATIBILITY: Sophie is by nature a more reserved kitty who appreciates when other animals give her space and respect. She can frequently be found observing the play and romping of other cats rather than participating; that said, she has learned over time to play with some of the kittens in her foster home and will claim her space by whapping the boys to keep them at bay. We haven’t observed her around dogs though suspect she will be reticent about engaging and likely give a smack if a canine is too inquisitive. Sophie doesn’t like loud noises or too much activity and would prefer a calm and quiet adult home.
Sweet Sophie is a quietly endearing girl who is ready to flourish with a home of her own!
