Meet Franklin! Franklin is a 5½-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a big heart packed into a small frame. This sweet boy is full of charm and loyalty—always ready to brighten your day with his gentle nature and playful spirit. Franklin loves being around his people, whether it’s for a cozy cuddle or a fun adventure outdoors. His intelligent eyes and affectionate personality make him the perfect companion for anyone who appreciates a loving, devoted friend. If you’re looking for a pup who’s as sweet as he is smart, Franklin is your guy!
Please do your breed research before applying to adopt. Australian Cattle Dogs and other herding breeds are special dogs with special requirements. These dogs were bred to have a job, and without the right activity level/purpose they won’t flourish which can lead to issues down the road. Herding dogs are incredibly smart and need to be challenged both physically and mentally to really be happy. Even though each dog is a unique individual, don’t forget, they were bred to herd things and can at times be mouthy and/or nippy. Cattle Dogs are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind if you are considering adding one to your household.
This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane-Ellensburg Shelter If you recognize this animal, please contact the adoption center at 509-925-7387
