My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have a sponsor buddy! My fee is lowered. I have a training scholarship! My adopter will receive free training at HHHS with me!

🐾 Meet Smokey: The 85-Pound Love Bug!
If you're looking for a dog who is literally "extra," Smokey is your guy! At 4 years young, this Lab mix is a walking celebration. He's got the energy of a puppy and the build of a professional athlete.
🌟 The "Super-Sized" Personality
Smokey was previously adopted, but his family found him to be a bit too much dog for their space. You see, Smokey doesn't quite realize he's a heavyweight champion. When he's happy-which is basically all the time-his "happy dance" can be a little... impactful.
Kids: He previously lived with children, but because of his size and strength, he tended to treat them like bowling pins (completely by accident!).
Adults: Even grownups should be prepared for a sturdy greeting. If you're looking for a dog that keeps you on your toes (literally), he's the one.
🐱 The Multi-Pet Life
Smokey previously lived with three small dogs and three cats. He is a gentle giant at heart and was even known to cuddle with them, but his paws are big and his awareness is... limited. He occasionally stepped on his smaller roommates, so he'd likely prefer a home where he doesn't have to worry about where he steps.
🎾 Social Style
While he lived with dogs before, Smokey has become a bit more selective at the shelter. He's not really into the "party animal" scene and will give a firm "no thanks" to high-energy dogs who get in his personal space. He would likely thrive best as the only big dog in the home, where he can be the undisputed King of the Couch.
🏠 Is Smokey Your Match?
Smokey needs a family that appreciates a big, strong, happy boy and doesn't mind a little extra muscle behind their morning walk.
