🐾 Meet Smokey: The 85-Pound Love Bug! If you're looking for a dog who is literally "extra," Smokey is your guy! At 4 years young, this Lab mix is a walking celebration. He's got the energy of a puppy and the build of a professional athlete. 🌟 The "Super-Sized" Personality Smokey was previously adopted, but his family found him to be a bit too much dog for their space. You see, Smokey doesn't quite realize he's a heavyweight champion. When he's happy-which is basically all the time-his "happy dance" can be a little... impactful. Kids: He previously lived with children, but because of his size and strength, he tended to treat them like bowling pins (completely by accident!). Adults: Even grownups should be prepared for a sturdy greeting. If you're looking for a dog that keeps you on your toes (literally), he's the one. 🐱 The Multi-Pet Life Smokey previously lived with three small dogs and three cats. He is a gentle giant at heart and was even known to cuddle with them, but his paws are big and his awareness is... limited. HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
