Meet Raider, a two year old, 60 pound Lab mix with a gentle soul and a heart that’s been waiting for quiet kindness
Raider came to us after being surrendered to a rural shelter by a homeless man who could no longer care for him. In the shelter’s loud, chaotic environment, Raider shut down. For weeks, he sat in his kennel facing the wall, trying to make himself small and invisible. Life was simply too much for a sensitive boy like him.
Everything changed when Raider went into a foster home. Away from the noise, his true self began to bloom. He discovered that couches are for cuddling, people are for loving, and home is a place where you can finally relax. While Raider plays well with other dogs his size, his favorite place by far is right next to his people, soaking up affection and returning it tenfold
Raider is both house trained and kennel trained, making him an easy addition to a loving home. He enjoys running and playing, so a physically fenced yard is required to keep him safe while he stretches his legs and lets his happiness loose.
Raider is looking for a patient, compassionate family who will show him that the world doesn’t have to be scary anymore. In return, he’ll offer unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and the kind of snuggles that make everything feel right.
Raider is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested.
If you’d like to meet Raider, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org.
If you have questions about Raider you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.
Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.
