My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady is a beautiful 5 year old female who weighs about 60 pounds. She is fully grown. She has a golden coat and a beautiful smile!

Lady is gentle and affectionate, well-mannered, and easy to be with. Lady walks nicely on leash, seeks human connection, and leans into love like it’s something she’s afraid to lose again.

She is good with kids and other dogs.

She is potty trained, but her forever family should be prepared to do more training while she learns the routine in her new home.

She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition.

She will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, January 9th, and will be available to meet, and take home if she is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below.

Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. We use those funds to support our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south eastern Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis.

She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday January 9th. If upon meeting, she is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent her from finding her forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog.

If placing a deposit is not the right fit for your family, we invite you to our adoption event at our office in Muskego on Sunday January 11th, where you can meet all of our available pups, no deposit necessary.

Additional adoption info

Texas Rescue Riders follows the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, which recommend conversation based adoptions and education to find a good home. Ensuring a good home doesn’t require excessive arbitrary rules. Adopters have many options when it comes to finding their new best friend, and making the decision to adopt rather than go to a more convenient pet store or breeder shouldn’t be a difficult process.

More about this rescue

Texas Rescue Riders appreciates our community's support in bringing dogs and cats from rural Texas into loving homes in the Midwest. Our amazing rescuers in Texas save these animals off the streets, where there is a severe pet overpopulation problem due to cultural differences and year round temperate climate. Texas Rescue Riders is an all inclusive rescue- we rescue first hand, nurse back to health, provide veterinary care, transport and adopt them out on our own. Our journey may begin in Texas, but it lives on in the north with our amazing adopters, fosters, volunteers and collaborating businesses. We are bound by our love of these precious souls who have joined their forever homes - and by those homeless dogs and cats whom we have not yet met - but who are waiting for their chance at happily ever after.
