My story

Hi I’m Shadow. I was found in a feral colony with my brother, Ollie, but I’m starting to learn humans are safe. I am still pretty shy around people, but Ollie leads the way and helps me be brave. I need a family that can be patient with me as I continue to open up to new people and build confidence. Playtime really brings me out of my shell and I can’t resist a feather wand! I get along with other cats and love to play, run around, and wrestle my foster siblings (cats). I need to be adopted with Ollie - I am particularly attached to him, (some may say I’m his little Shadow), but I may do okay aa long as I another kitten my age to play with. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
