My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blaze is here! I am a confident, independent girl with striking black fur beautifully mixed with shades of orange. My unique coloring makes me truly stand out, and my bold personality matches my beautiful coat! My foster mom says, "She is a sassy kitty who likes to do things on her own terms. Blaze enjoys attention, but she also values her space and independence. She can be playful and energetic, sometimes having bursts of excitement that show off her lively spirit. Blaze would do well in a home that appreciates a strong-willed, affectionate cat who brings personality and warmth into the room. If you are looking for a beautiful, spirited companion who will make your home feel complete, Blaze may be the perfect fit. Just know that she's not the best traveler." I am altered, housetrained, and up to date on all age-appropriate shots. Contact 507-451-4512 or steelecountyhumanesociety@gmail.com to set up a meet-n-greet. My adoption fee is $200.

Additional adoption info

Thank you so much for your interest in adoption! Please fill out our Pre-Adoption Form. Simply fill out the form and then email it to us.
This is what we will use to guide you through the adoption process. It is not an application. We keep all forms on file for two months. When we take in pets, we make sure they have the necessary shots, food, and wellness checks. Our adoption fees are necessary to cover the initial costs.

Go meet their pets

Currently, the SCHS does not have a shelter. We expect completion of our new building in 2026. Until then, our animals live in foster homes where they are loved, socialized, and provided all veterinary services, including neutering and spaying until they are adopted and moved to their forever homes.
