Meet Amber!
This wonderful old gal is looking for a cozy place to call home while she gets healthy. Amber is a sweet hound mix with an estimated birthday of 05/01/2017, weighing in around 40lbs. Miss Amber was roaming around the outskirts of Charlotte for weeks before Animal Control was able to safely transport her into our care. Amber was in rough shape when we met her, very emaciated, heavily infested with fleas and ticks, hairloss from scratching, and a painfully infected wound caused by a majorly overgrown nail. She quickly began recieving lots of love and care, and warmed up to our staff and volunteers almost instantly. She has also done incredibly well with children and other dogs.
Sadly, shortly after meeting her, we discovered that Amber was highly heartworm positive. This means that this lovely lady will need to undergo several months of treatment to rid her of the potentially deadly disease. She is, however, looking for a loving foster home to help her through the process! The foster will be responsible for administering her daily medications as directed, and bringing her to the shelter for the required appointments during her treatment plan. We make things as simple on the foster as possible, we provide the meds, you provide the love!
If you're interested in giving this lady a loving place to rest her head, give us a call at 615-446-7387 or come by and see her!
