Journey is a 1-year-old, ~40-pound sweetheart who has spent her puppyhood waiting for something every dog deserves — a family of her own. Born into an unwanted litter, Journey and her siblings grew up without the comforts of home life: no cozy couches, no bedtime routines, and no humans calling her name just because they love her. Yet through it all, Journey’s heart remained gentle, hopeful, and full of love.
Journey is friendly, affectionate, and playful, with a soft, loving nature that makes her impossible not to adore. She does great with other dogs and kids, and has a beautiful balance of curiosity and calm. She’s the kind of girl who will happily explore the world with you and then settle in close, just to be sure she’s exactly where she belongs.
Her mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad remains a mystery — a charming wanderer who passed along good looks and great genes. Whatever the mix, Journey inherited intelligence, athleticism, and a loyal heart that’s ready to bond deeply with her people.

Hay Dude Equine Rescue, in Boerne, TX, does not have a shelter - ALL of our dogs, are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each pup comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations that are appropriate for their age, microchipped, heartworm tested and on current on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.

(1) promote and educate the public on horse slaughter and equine abuse
(2) Rescue, retrain and rehome slaughter bound, abused, or neglected horses
(3) educate the public on proper horse care and husbandry
(4) offer assistance to equine owners in times of natural or personal disaster
(5) rehabilitate neglected and abused equines
(6) accept donations of rehomeable equines for adoption and placement
(7) adopt equines into thoroughly vetted homes
