Hello, I’m Evelyn. I came to the shelter through no fault of my own—my previous owner became ill and could no longer care for me. While that change was hard, I’m still the same sweet senior girl who loves companionship and comfort. I’m known for being a little vocal (as you can see in my photo!), especially when I have something important to say or when I’m hoping for some attention. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life: long naps under a sunny window, soft cozy blankets on the couch, and a peaceful home where I can relax and feel safe. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving senior who will keep you company and fill your home with warmth (and the occasional conversation), I’d love to spend my golden years with you.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
