My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Camembert (KRLA-A-85430), better known as Bert to his foster family. Bert is one of Mama Colby Jack’s (KRLA-A-85426) famous Cheese Board Babies and the undeniable class clown of the litter. True to his name, Bert is a certified little stinker, a mischievous creature with a talent for trouble that could give most toddlers a run for their money. He’s the kind of kitten who seems to operate off of exactly one brain cell, and he puts that brain cell to excellent use.

Wherever you are, Bert will be. Whatever you’re doing, Bert will do too. He leads his foster siblings on all kinds of adventures — some wholesome, some chaotic, all extremely entertaining. He has an eye for mischief, a knack for finding trouble, and a level of curiosity that defies both logic and self-preservation. He’s outgoing, gregarious, fearless, and proudly ridiculous. Watching Bert go about his Very Important Kitten Activities is pure joy.

But Bert is far more than a trouble-making stinker bug. Beneath all that chaos lives one of the sweetest little lover boys you’ll ever meet. A kiss right on the snoot, a squeeze, a scritch — these are all mandatory activities when it comes to Bert. He adores his people, follows his foster mom and dad everywhere, and the number of kisses he receives each day is frankly astonishing. He gives his love freely and soaks up affection like a sponge.

Bert is also a star playmate. He goes absolutely wild for the feather toy and loves to roughhouse with kittens of all ages. He gets along well with other cats and holds his own with the “big boys” of the house. His foster brother Top Banana (KRLA-A-85329) just might be his favorite kitty friend in the whole world, and the two of them can often be found cuddled up together once their antics are complete.

If you’re looking for a kitten with a big, silly personality, endless charm, and a perfect blend of chaos and sweetness, Bert is the one for you. He will fill your life with laughter, affection, and nonstop entertainment.

If you’re ready to open your home to this delightful little goofball, please reach out to his foster family at elserenocats@gmail.com.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
