My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

[DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. With a heavy heart, we are looking for the right home for our 5-year-old German Shepherd (AKC certified) - Jax. He is a wonderful dog e-collar trained, very loyal, and full of personality. He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once you throw a ball for him, youre instantly his best friend. He absolutely loves attention and being around his people, and hes happiest when hes included and engaged. Jax is great with kids we have a 2-year-old and has been a loving, gentle part of our family. He does well with dogs he knows and is comfortable with them, but like many shepherds, he may need a little time and proper introductions to warm up to new dogs. Due to changes in our schedule, were no longer able to give him the consistent time, play, and mental stimulation he truly deserves. He would thrive with an active, experienced owner who understands the breed and enjoys working with their dog. This is not an easy decision, and we are committed to being thoughtful and selective to ensure he goes to a home where he will be loved, understood, and given the time and structure he needs. More about this rescue

Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
