A 2-year-old shepherd mix tipping the scales at 67 pounds of pure, unfiltered love. Big dog energy, bigger heart. This dude is the definition of wholesome — sturdy build, soft soul, zero toxic traits.
Balto knows his basic commands (yes king, he listens), walks around like he’s got a job, and takes being a good boy very seriously. He’s great with other dogs — respectful, playful, not doing too much — and when it comes to kids? Absolutely down bad. He adores them, protects them, and will happily accept all the tiny-human attention like it’s his birthright.
He’s loyal in a “I will follow you from room to room just to vibe” way, affectionate without being clingy (okay… maybe a little clingy), and always ready to match your energy — couch potato days or outdoor adventures. Balto is the kind of dog who makes your house feel like home and your bad days way less bad.

All of Dogs in our care are Spayed/Neutered, microchipped, Heartworm Tested, Vaccinated, and kept current on flea and heartworm preventative. Our adoption fee's are puppies under 6 months-$150, dogs over 6 months-$95, and purebred dogs vary. All of the Cats in our care are Spayed/Neutered, microchipped, Fiv/FeLV Tested, Vaccinated, and kept current on flea preventative. Our adoption fee's are kittens under 6 months-$70 and cats over 6 months-$50.
We do have an adoption application and do not do same day adoptions.

We are open Monday Thru Friday 10am-6pm and on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. We do recommend calling in advanced to make sure we will be open on weekends as we do attend offsite adoption events frequently! Call to make sure the dog you are interested is still at the shelter.

We are a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter providing services to the Texas Hill Country. Our funding comes strictly from donations, grants, and fundraising events. We are not supported by tax dollars.
