My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sugar gliders are fascinating animals with specialized care needs. They are fragile and take time to bond with humans, so they are best suited for teens and adults. These nocturnal pets need an owner who can socialize and handle them after sundown, a large enclosure for exercise, and a diet that includes fresh fruits, vegetables, and protein sources. Sugar gliders are highly social and must be housed in pairs or family units. Sugar gliders can make wonderful companions for those who have researched their needs and are prepared to provide proper care. Please note that they are illegal to own in Aurora.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
