My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Elsie 🐾

Elsie is an 11-month-old terrier mix with the softest, sweetest soul. Shy, gentle, and quiet by nature, she’s a laid-back girl who finds joy in life’s simple comforts — tasty treats, the company of other dogs, and peaceful outdoor exploring at her own pace.

She’s both crate trained and house trained and is happiest when she has a cozy, quiet spot to curl up and enjoy long, restful naps. Elsie can be timid at first and will need a little time to adjust to new people and a new home, but with patience, consistency, and kindness, her trust slowly blossoms.

Once she feels safe, Elsie’s true personality shines through in gentle tail wags and sweet requests for long, cozy belly rubs. She’s the kind of companion who doesn’t rush love — but when she gives it, it’s deep, sincere, and incredibly rewarding.

If you’re looking for a calm, gentle dog who will bloom beautifully with time and understanding, Elsie may be your perfect match.

More about this rescue

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
