We know that this is another big ask for an adopter. Maui is an older lady, a large breed, and can be selective with the animals that she vibes with. She's an eight year old shepherd mix, weighs about 52lbs, and just needs a safe place to land to live out her golden years in comfort.
Maui is very, VERY smart. Her previous owner put so much effort and time and love into her and it shows in how much she loves to show off all of her tricks. Despite being eight years old, she's still full of energy and loves to run around our agility course and prefers playing with toys and people over pretty much anything else. She's lovely on a leash for the most part but can get a little stubborn when something interests her and she wants to go investigate it.
She's not a clingy girl and while she won't say no to attention (obviously), she isn't the kind of dog that needs to be glued to your hip 24/7. If you think you work too much to own a dog? Maui is perfect. She'll snooze all day and, as long as you engage with her and take her for regular walks, she'll be content.
Maui is pretty selective with the dogs that she likes. There doesn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why she gets along with some and wants nothing to do with others. She hasn't shown any aggression but it's clear that she would just prefer NOT to be around certain dogs. She's also the same way with cats...sometimes she's fine and sometimes she's not, so it may be best to just say no cats at all. Kids 12+ but we may make an exception for the right family with experience.
