Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy! Welcome to the best rest of your life!
Lucy was a new mom at only 14 months old in November and she's still trying to lose some of that "baby weight", but that doesn't mean she's not excited to start her new life! Lucy is now 1.5 years old and she's ready to find her new home! She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped - the works!
Lucy came into rescue with her "baby daddy", Percy. They are NOT bonded, but she would do best in a home with another dog as a companion. She is hesitant in new situations and having a pal to show her the ropes is just what she needs to help build confidence and allow her to shine!
She is good with other dogs and has been great around small children - though she is a big gal at 73 lbs, so she could easily knock over a small child when she jumps. She's not a fan of cats or farm animals.
Unfortunately, at her young age, Lucy has tested positive for heartworms, which is heartbreaking for us to even thing about this at her young age. This means she will need to be treated prior to adoption.
Lucy needs a foster home or foster-to-adopt home that will let her settle in and recover during her treatment. AWCR pays for all treatment and health related issues while in foster care.
