My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What an adorable little gal! Our Nana banana is a very curious and friendly chinchilla! She is on the shier/skittish side, which is common in chinchillas, but she's been very curious and kind when interacting with her caregivers. Her previous owners were not able to keep her during a big move, so she ended up with us. She is about 6 years old and was described by her last home as friendly, affectionate, quiet, shy and hyper. She is nervous around new people and children. But likes to have her hair brushed by those shes comfortable with.
She's very new to the shelter, so her handleability is unknown, but we will update when we know more.
Chinchillas are very unique and pretty uncommon pets. Please be sure to do plenty of research to insure you can give proper space, enrichment and care for this animal. A great place to star would be here https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/chinchillas
Nana came to us with eye irritation and was put on an eye cream after a vet visit. The vet diagnosed as "suspect conjunctivitis from topical irritation (dust baths, other)" She is already clearing up!
