Zadie is a beautiful dilute tortie and a devoted young mama who is now spayed and ready to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. Calm, gentle, and quietly affectionate, Zadie has gracefully stepped out of survival mode and into the softer life of safety, comfort, and companionship.
Zadie came to us from a new trapping project where wonderful neighbors had been feeding and caring for a small group of outdoor cats. Wanting to help, they reached out so the cats could be spayed and neutered. Thanks to that consistent human interaction, Zadie and several others turned out to be friendly rather than feral—giving them a chance at something better than life on the streets.
Her daughter Saela was trapped first and arrived scared and unsure, though still accepting gentle pets and affection. When Zadie was trapped a few days later and reunited with her baby, everything changed. Saela immediately relaxed, and it became clear just how strong their bond is. From that moment on, these two have been inseparable.

We’re thrilled you’re considering giving one of our cats or kittens a loving forever home! Here’s what to expect during the adoption process:
📋 Adoption Application & Contract
To ensure the best match for both you and our cats, we require:
Adoption Application – Helps us understand your home, motivation for adoption, and expectations as a pet owner.
Adoption Contract – Includes an indoor-only and no declawing clause, as well as a Vet Promissory Note to ensure continued veterinary care and spay/neuter follow-through (if applicable).
🌍 Adoption Area
We do not adopt out of state, except on a case-by-case basis near the North Carolina border.
💸 Adoption Donations
Your donation helps us continue rescuing and caring for cats in need:
Unaltered kittens – a minimum donation of $120.
(Includes vaccine series, deworming, and medical care. Adopter is responsible for spay/neuter and rabies vaccine once age-appropriate. We can recommend low-cost vet services.)
Spayed/Neutered cats – a minimum donation of $140
Bonded pairs – a minimum donation of $200
Career/Barn cats – a minimum donation of $25

Billy the Kidden Rescue is a VDACS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 and supported by a network of over 60 active foster homes across Hampton Roads.
Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce the feral cat population in our community by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens—transforming them into loving, adoptable pets and placing them in safe, forever homes.

We are proud advocates of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)—the humane, effective method of managing community cats. Through this program, feral cats are:

Our feral kitten socialization program is one of a kind—with a 90% success rate in helping feral-born kittens become affectionate, in-home pets. Through experienced fostering, patience, and love, these kittens learn to trust, play, and thrive indoors.
