My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maui! Maui is a BEAUTIFUL girl looking for her forever home! Some kind people found her as a stray, but couldn't keep her. Maui is gentle, calm, confident, and very loving. Everyone loves her adorable ladylike personality. She seems like the kind of cat who bonds really closely to her person/people and she is an excellent snuggle buddy. The people who brought her in said that she can be picky about her cat friends. She had some good cat friends but there were also some cats that she didn't want to be around. Maui's favorite activities include watching birds from a window, hanging out on a tall cat tree, exploring the house, rolling in catnip, and snuggling with you! Maui is wonderful and deserves an equally wonderful forever family... it could be you!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
