Meet Olaf 🐾
Olaf is a 4-year-old neutered hound who was surrendered by his owner due to not getting along with other pets in the home. He’s a sensitive boy who needs a patient, understanding adopter willing to let him move at his own pace.
According to his previous owner, Olaf can be shy and growly with unfamiliar people. He has lived with medium to large dogs, has never lived with cats, and can be protective of his toys and his people. On the bright side, Olaf already knows sit, stay, and shake—especially when treats are involved!
Staff have observed that Olaf is very head shy and becomes nervous when approached from above or straight on. He often ducks and may bark at tall people or anyone standing over him. A calm, low approach and the use of a harness work best for him. Olaf does warm up with time—and once he does, his true personality comes out. He turns into an affectionate, happy dog who can’t get enough of his people and will eagerly jump in for attention.
Olaf would do best in a quiet, structured home with experienced, dog-savvy adopters who understand fearful or shy dogs and are willing to build trust slowly. He’ll thrive with consistency, clear boundaries, and lots of positive reinforcement. For the right person, Olaf will be a deeply loyal and loving companion. 💙
