Marvette is a gentle, sensitive soul who came to us from a very difficult past. Because of what she's been through, she is extremely shy and still learning how to trust people and her environment. Marvette is currently in foster care so she can have the quiet, stability, and patience she needs to feel safe.
This sweet girl is not a very brave cat. In fact, her future adopter should be prepared to rarely see her at first, and to go a long time without petting or handling her. Marvette will move at her own pace, and earning her trust will take dedication, understanding, and a calm presence. For the right person, however, helping her blossom will be incredibly rewarding.
Marvette must go to an experienced cat home-someone who understands fearful cats and is committed to giving her the time and patience she deserves. She also requires another friendly, confident cat in the home who can help show her that the world isn't so scary. A feline companion will be essential to her progress. Alternatively, Marvette must go to a home with Uncle Frank, if there is not another cat in the home.
For her safety and well-being, Marvette cannot under any circumstances go to a home where she would ever be outdoors. She needs a secure, indoor-only environment where she can feel protected.
With love, patience, and time, Marvette has the potential to grow into a more confident cat. She is looking for a special home, one that understands that trust is earned slowly, and that true progress may be measured in small, quiet victories. If you have the experience, compassion, and heart to help Marvette reach her full potential, she may be the perfect fit for you. Primary Color: Black Weight: 2.007 Age: 1yrs 7mths 1wks
