My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peaches. Orange on the outside, extra personality on the inside.

Peaches comes in a classic orange kitten package with a little...spice. When you first meet her, she might hiss, swat, or give you that look that says "I don't know you like that." But don't be fooled - this is not a mean kitten, just a cautious one with strong opinions and excellent boundaries.

Give her some patience, gentle understanding, and - most importantly - plenty of playtime, and Peaches transforms. The spice fades, the sweetness kicks in, and suddenly you've got a playful, curious, and affectionate little sidekick who wants to engage, explore, and have fun on her own terms.

Peaches is looking for a home that understands that trust takes time and that the best rewards are earned. If you're willing to let her warm up at her own pace, you'll discover that this spicy orange turns very sweet.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
