My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Bex!

I’m a beautiful, fluffy black girl with a truly glorious tail—seriously, it deserves its own fan club. I might be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I turn into the sweetest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet.

When it comes to affection, I’m a full-on wiggle worm. I love to plop right onto my person, roll into your hands for pets, and soak up kisses and cuddles. I really enjoy being held and doted on, and when I trust you, I make it very clear that you’re my person.

I’d love to have another cat friend in my home, and I do just fine with dogs too. I’m a gentle soul who’s looking for an understanding adopter who will give me a little time to settle in and feel comfortable.

A calm household is important to me, and I’d do best with older, respectful kids—teens would be perfect. With patience, love, and a peaceful home, I promise to reward you with endless affection, cozy snuggles, and the majestic swish of my fabulous tail.

Bex is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Additional adoption info

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
