I’m a young, adorable black girl with a petite little head and a splash of white on my chest—just enough to make me extra cute. I might seem a bit shy at first, but don’t let that fool you… I am absolutely starved for affection in the best way.
I will reach out for pets and grab onto you to make sure you don’t stop. Once I feel safe, I become your personal Velcro cat—you might actually have trouble getting me off of you. I love being close, cuddling, and soaking up all the love I can get.
I LOVE other kitties and really thrive with feline friends around. I also love dogs—yes, dogs! They don’t bother me at all. One thing I’m not a fan of is being picked up; it makes me nervous, so I need people who respect my boundaries.
I’m looking for a calm, cat-savvy home that understands shy-at-first cats and will let me settle in at my own pace. Give me patience, gentle affection, and time, and I promise I’ll turn into the most loyal, loving little shadow you could ask for.
Charlie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
