Coming Soon: Twin Tails: The Dixie & Pixie Adventure
Meet Dixie (blue collar, golden eyes) and Pixie (purple collar, slightly green eyes)**—a bonded sister duo with big personalities and even bigger hearts. Think Mary-Kate & Ashley, but in cat form. These two do everything together and are always ready for their next adventure.
By day, they’re fearless explorers, turning a home full of numerous cat-safe plants into their personal jungle (plants are mostly left alone—except ferns).
They rotate between chasing toy mice, racing up cat trees, lounging in hammocks, and napping in their favorite oversized plant pot.
By night, they become total cuddle bugs. If they’re not snuggled together, they’re happily being the babies of the household, cuddling older cats and the dog. They sleep every night with their foster mom and her pets and are certified lap cats for movies and reading time.
Dixie and Pixie love other cats but prefer to be the youngest, soaking up attention and gentle grooming. They play hard, sleep even harder, and thrive with hunting-style toys and climbing space.
Dixie is FIV+; Pixie is FIV-negative. Both are healthy, loving, and inseparable.
Their mom Trixie has found her happy ending—now it’s their turn.
As much as their foster family adores them, it’s time for these twins to embark on their next adventure… together.
Dixie & Pixie are currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting them, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
