Meet Freddie! Freddie was brought to us after her and three other cats were found wandering around an apartment complex. She had a collar on and was already spayed, but despite our efforts to find an owner, no one ever came to claim her. She can be a little shy and loves to have somewhere to hide. Yummy treats and a hiding spot are surefire ways to win Freddie over. She does like other cats with a slow, cautious introduction. AFHS is open 7 days a week, and adoptions are first come, first serve. We encourage you to visit the shelter to meet our pets.

Unless the animal is in a foster home, then you can visit with all of our adoptable pets anytime during operating hours, no appt. needed.

Cats - 5 months and over: $40.00
Kittens - 4 months and under: $50.00
Senior Cats - 7+ years: $10.00
Dogs – 5 months and over: $95
Puppies – 4 months and under: $200
Senior Dogs - 7+ years: $50
Each animal receives age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea/tick prevention, microchip, county license & Heartworm prevention for dogs, trial bag of Hill's Science Diet food, and 30 days free pet insurance. AFHS is open 7 days a week and no appointment is needed to visit with adoptable pets!
Dogs must leave the shelter with a collar and leash, which can be purchased at the shelter at the time of adoption if you do not have one to bring with you.

Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is the only open- admission shelter in Butler County, Ohio.
