🐾 Meet Rufus – A Smart, Spirited Pup with a Big Future 🐾 📅 Age: ~8 months 🐶 Breed: Bully Mix ⚖️ Weight: Puppy-sized (still growing!) 💉 Status: Fully Vetted, Ready for Adoption
Rufus is a happy, energetic adolescent who’s bursting with personality and potential. At just under a year old, he’s at that fun (and busy!) stage where curiosity, enthusiasm, and intelligence all collide. He’s outgoing, social, and genuinely enjoys working with people—especially when expectations are clear and training is structured.
This bright boy already knows sit, down, come, and heel, and he responds best to consistency, boundaries, and positive outlets for his energy. When he’s had a chance to move his body and engage his brain, Rufus settles nicely and shows his affectionate side, enjoying calm downtime with his handler.
Like many teenage pups, Rufus can get a little too excited sometimes. When his arousal is high, he may jump or mouth, but these behaviors are easily redirected with toys, training, and guidance. He’s not being naughty—he’s just still learning how to manage all his big feelings in a growing body.
🐶 Rufus at a Glance:
Energetic, outgoing, and very people-social
Smart and eager to learn
Knows sit, down, come, and heel
Thrives with structure and clear expectations
Playful and fun, with a great training foundation
Affectionate once settled
Typical adolescent behaviors (jumping/mouthing) that respond well to redirection
Fully vetted and ready to go home
🏡 Rufus’ Ideal Home:
Moderately active adopters who enjoy training and engagement
A household with children 12+
Commitment to continuing basic training and enrichment
Regular exercise and mental stimulation
A family excited to guide a young dog into adulthood
Rufus is the kind of dog who will give you back exactly what you put into him. With consistency, patience, and positive guidance, he’s going to grow into a confident, well-mannered, and incredibly fun companion. If you’re ready for a smart young pup who’s eager to learn and love, Rufus is ready to meet you. 🐶💙We are open to the public Tuesday - Sunday (1PM - 5PM)! No Appointments required!
