💙🌴Meet Nash, a “Sato dog” from Puerto Rico! A “Sato dog” refers to the mixed breed, stray dogs on the island. (Majority are small-medium size but some can be larger). Island dogs are smart, loyal, highly trainable, and thrive on routines and consistency. They have wonderful demeanors, make devoted companions, adjust well to their environments, and are a perfect mix of energetic and affectionate. There is no love like the love of an island dog.
(Update: 1/24/26): Nash was found abandoned on a solitary road in Aguas Buenas, PR. He was originally part of a litter of five but two of their siblings didn’t make it.😔 Nash is happy, affectionate, playful, and full of love. He holds a gentle soul with a wonderful disposition and an outgoing personality. Nash has been around various dogs, cats, and kids (ages 15 & 16) and interacts with ease. He shares his foster home with four dogs, (one being a Sato) two cats, and other foster dog friends. He is doing great with all routines and will continue to be set up for success. Nash is thriving with puppy-training concepts and travels great in the car. His crate training is going great both day/night with no accidents, typically. Potty training is going really well for his age- with the expected accidents. He is doing well with basic leash training but will need continued guidance and for walks. This sweet guy has socialized well so far and will make an amazing companion. We are excited to see his confidence continue to thrive. (Mom and Dad are unknown).😊
