My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Kovo. 🧡

I'm almost 6 years old and, let me tell you, I'm everything you'd expect from an incredible orange feline. You know what they say about orange cats-we're full of personality, a little goofy, and a whole lot of love! I'm the kind of guy who will brighten your home with my charm and keep you smiling with my antics.
Here's what makes me special:
✨ Affectionate & Social - I love being around my people and soaking up all the attention.
✨ Playful & Curious - Life is an adventure, and I'm always ready to explore!
✨ Big Personality - Orange cats are known for their bold, fun-loving nature, and I'm no exception.
One important thing: please don't let me eat string, string toys, elastics, or anything like that! Turns out they're bad for me (who knew?!), so I need a home that keeps me safe from those tempting little hazards.
I'm ready for a loving home where I can be my silly, sweet self and share all the joy I have to offer. Could you be the one to give me my forever home?

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
