My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dasher, a toe-tally awesome kitten with extra toes on her front paws (built for biscuits and holding hands). She's a happy, affectionate girl who just happens to eat a special diet with probiotics to keep her sensitive tummy feeling great. She's also had her teeth removed due to stomatitis, which doesn't slow her down at all - she eats well, plays hard, and cuddles like an expert.

Dasher adores other cats and truly shines with furry companions. She's gentle with her greetings, wonderfully respectful of boundaries, and happiest when she's curled up in a cozy cat pile or snoozing beside a friend. She has a calm, thoughtful nature and a soft, loving presence that makes her easy to fall for.
She'll do best in a home that's comfortable continuing her diet and appreciates a kitten who's a little special in the very best ways. In return, Dasher brings excellent manners, elite snuggles, bonus toes, and a whole lot of love.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
