My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pecan Pearl is a sweet, sensitive little soul with a heart full of love and just waiting for the right family to help her blossom. This beautiful young pup has a gentle nature, a playful spirit, and an irresistible love for cuddles once she feels safe. This cutie's estimated birthdate is 3/1/2025.

Pecan Pearl is doing fantastic with potty training and mostly goes outside, using a potty pad when she needs to hold it a bit longer. She’s had no recent poop accidents and is clearly eager to keep learning and doing things right. She’s also leash-trained in progress and enjoys her walks—sniffing, exploring, and even doing her business while on leash like a pro!

This girl adores affection. She loves being petted, happily snuggles on the couch for hours, and allows her foster to pick her up. She can be a bit submissive at times due to her past, but her gentle trust and desire to please truly shine through. Once she knows she’s safe, her sweet personality comes out in full force.

Pecan Pearl has classic puppy energy—zoomies, playtime, and squeaky toys are her absolute favorite (especially her beloved pink duck!). After playtime, she settles beautifully and is ready for calm cuddle sessions. She even tries to play fetch and would make an excellent “summer camp counselor,” happily supervising play and joining in the fun.

She does wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys having a confident canine friend to play with and learn from. She’s polite and respectful with cats, usually giving them a quick sniff before moving along. With children, she does best with calmer, respectful kiddos who understand gentle interactions.

Pecan Pearl can be a little shy with strangers and initially cautious around men, but kindness, patience, and getting down on her level help her warm up quickly. She thrives in calm environments with soft voices and steady movements and truly appreciates a loving, reassuring approach.

She does best when safely managed while her people are away—she’s pen-trained, sleeps well overnight, and this setup helps her continue succeeding with potty training and keeps her from sampling household items (puppy curiosity is strong!).

Pecan Pearl’s dream home? A calm, loving household with an active-but-gentle lifestyle, a playful dog companion, and people who enjoy walks just as much as cozy couch cuddles. With continued positive guidance, she will grow into an incredibly devoted and adaptable companion.

Pecan Pearl may have had a rough start, but she’s ready to learn that the world can be a safe, joyful place. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate pup who will reward your patience with endless love, Pecan Pearl may just be your perfect match!
