Barkley is an owner surrender looking for a new home.
Hi! My name is Barkley! I am a handsome 10 month old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my elderly owner unable to safely care for me after being found as a stray. I am described as friendly, active, smart, playful, and affectionate! I am still a puppy with puppy tendencies and like to romp and play and have lots of energy! I previously lived with a black lab until it passed and we got along very well and played together! I have never lived with a cat or had exposure to children so a proper meet and greet is recommended. I can be protective with people I do not know coming to the home but once they are inside and I see they are ok, I am excited to meet them! I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep on a dog bed in the humans bedroom. If the humans must be away, I am crated and do fine when left alone. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I will need assistance with leash training as I am a strong puppy and energetic and my owner is not strong enough to safely walk me. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, rope toys, playing tug of war, rawhides, glowing balls, cuddles, and love!
