PERSONALITY: Spunky, playful, energetic, sweet. Loves to play fetch. She is not a huge snuggler; more independent and zooms more than lays. “Like a kid with ADHD”, lovingly described by her foster. She is a great traveler; rides great in the car. Prefers to walk/run versus being toted around and held. A kid or other dog to play with her and burn energy would probably be good for her.
TRAINING: Potty trained, crate trained
KIDS: Met kids aged 6+ and did wonderful with them.
DOGS: Does well with other dogs, small to large. In foster with dogs. She can be a bit overwhelming to small calmer (e.g. small senior dogs) that don’t want to play with her, but she does fine with everyone nonetheless.
CATS: Does well with them; in foster with cats.
OTHER ANIMALS: Does well with goats and pigs. Barks at horses.
HISTORY: Came into animal control as a stray with a broken leg. Underwent orthopedic surgery to repair the leg and made a full recovery; fully healed.
LOCATION: Currently in foster in Meansville, GA.
AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a 2 week commitment-free trial run to make sure things are a fit before sealing the deal and officially adopting.

Joy’s Promise is a promise to keep fighting for those like Joy. The discarded, unwanted, abused and neglected. It won’t always look like Joy, a pregnant mama facing euthanasia. It might be a pittie sitting animal control for months, years unwanted. It might be a boxer mix from a terrible hoarding case. It might be an owner surrender that lost everything they have ever known. It might be a box of puppies who were tossed without the slightest remorse. Joy’s Promise is a promise for Joy’s death to not be in vain, but a catalyst for more lives saved.
Joy’s Promise Canine Rescue is a registered nonprofit corporation and an actively licensed GDA animal shelter. We are a foster-based organization in the process of filing 501c3 paperwork.
